Tencent offers the following music streaming services (collectively, the “Tencent Services”):

QQMusic: (https://y.qq.com) a music streaming and downloading service launched in 2004.

KuGou: (http://www.KuGou.com) a music streaming and downloading service launched in 2004, it is one of the largest streaming services in China. KuGou was purchased by China Music Corporation (“CMC”) in 2014, and Tencent acquired a stake through a merger with CMC in 2016.

Kuwo: (http://www.kuwo.cn) the fourth largest music streaming service in China. Tencent also acquired a stake in Kuwo through a merger with CMC in 2016.

WeSing: (https://wesingapp.com) the largest online karaoke streaming service in China (with an estimated 77% online karaoke market share).

In 2016, the combined Tencent Services accounted for approximately 78% * of mainland China’s national music streaming market. Its mission is to use technology to elevate the role of music in people’s lives by enabling them to create, enjoy, share, and interact with music. The Tencent platform encompasses online music, online karaoke, and live streaming services focused on music, allowing music fans to discover, listen, sing, watch, perform, and socialize around music.

It takes between 4 and 6 weeks for content to be published on Tencent.

Each of QQ Music, KuGou, and Kuwo offers the following tiers:

1. Basic subscription service:

  • A music streaming subscription service available on all devices;
  • Includes connected downloads (i.e., an “offline mode”) of up to 300 songs;
  • Standard audio quality of 320 kbps;

2. Premium subscription service:

  • The same functionality as the Basic subscription service, except it includes connected downloads (i.e., an “offline mode”) for up to 500 songs (only QQ Music and KuGou);

3. VIP subscription service (also known as Green Diamond in QQ Music):

  • The same functionality as the Basic subscription service and additionally provides subscribers access to third-party coupons, games, access to purchase tickets for live concerts, ringtones, customizable skins, and music player features.

4. Ad-supported service:

  • A free, ad-supported on-demand music streaming service available on all devices;
  • No connected download feature or offline mode;
  • Low audio quality of 128 kbps.

The WeSing service offers the following functionality:

1. VIP subscription service:

  • An on-demand karaoke service that allows users to sing and/or record their own voice over a master recording (either alongside the original voice (as a “duet”) or with the original voice digitally removed) (“UGC Covers”) and publish the UGC Covers on the WeSing Service;
  • Live streaming functionality (unlicensed under the Merlin-Tencent Agreement);
  • Provides social/chat functions and virtual gifting functionality;
  • Includes connected downloads (i.e., an “offline mode”);
  • Standard audio quality of 320 kbps;
  • Subscribers have access to third-party coupons, game packs, customizable skins, and other karaoke features (“Additional Offers”).

2. Ad-supported service:

  • The same on-demand functionality as the VIP subscription service, except:
  • No connected download feature or offline mode;
  • Low audio quality of 128 kbps;
  • No additional offers
